Trans Accessible Libraries Initiative

This guide provides practical information and library resources for transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming students, and those interested in trans studies.

Higher Education Resources

This page provides access to:

  • A selection of current higher education e-books (if you would like to find older e-books, or books in print, please use the UNT Libraries Catalog)*,
  • The Education Source database to locate current academic research in higher education, and
  • A selection of web resources for transgender college students.

If you need help with your research, please contact the Women's and Gender Studies/LGBTQ Studies Librarian, Julie Leuzinger (she/her/hers).

NOTE: While we have tried to use inclusive language in this guide, if you notice anything that could be improved, please don't hesitate to contact us with suggestions.

*The UNT Libraries has access to additional education resources (such as juvenile literature and curriculum materials). However, given the focus of this resource guide, practical information for UNTs transgender student population, we chose to limit what is highlighted on this page to higher education resources.

Education Databases

You can use the database, Education Source to locate current research in higher education. For example, enter transgender and "Title IX" (highlighted in yellow below) in the text box and click the Search button (circled in red below).
