Basic Search

There are multiple ways to conduct a basic search from Discover's homepage. You have the ability to use one or more of the techniques below to search the catalog:

  • Input keyword, title, authors/contributors, or subject queries into the search bar.
  • Utilize the "Look in: All Fields" dropdown to specify your search.
  • Use the facets to search for physical or online items, resource type (books, audio, videos, images, etc.), collection, and newly added items.

Search Results & Item Records

After clicking search, Discover will quickly retrieve results that are relevant to your query. The search results page will contain additional facets to the left that will allow you to specify your results further. A search bar is also included on every page, if you decide you want to change your search.

To the right, the records retrieved from your search will provide basic information about the items such as the title, author(s), publishing date, and availability.

After selecting a record, you will be taken to a page that will provide more information about the item, a shelf location, an option to request items, and the ability to request an Interlibrary Loan.

If you would like to start over, go back, or delete filters, you can use the "Applied Filters" at the top of your results page.
