Do you ever find your hair in your face while studying, cooking, or working on a cool project? A simple scrunchie can save the day! Best of all, it is super simple to make your own!
—----------------------------
You will need:
About 18 x 4 inches of fabric. I used some leftover t-shirt fabric, but most fabrics will work for this project.
8-9 inches of ¼ and inch elastic. This might change depending how large you want your scrunchy to be.
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Safety pins
—----------------------------
Let's Get Started!
Step 1: Once you've cut your scrunchie fabric, fold it over, aligning the ends of the good side to the good side of the fabric. Your piece should be roughly 18 x 2 inches.
Step 2: Now, you're ready to sew along the raw edge of the fabric. Leave a gap so you can turn your fabric right side out.
Step 3: Turn half of your tube to the right side and sew the short ends together.
Step 4: Turn your fabric right side out through the gap.
Step 5: Attach a safety pin to your elastic and feed it through the scrunchie using the gap. Be careful during this step to avoid poking yourself with the safety pin.
Step 6: Sew the seam gap closed, and you're done!
Thanks for reading todays Maker fashion tip! We hope to see you come by to The Spark to make your very own hair scrunchies!
