Committee Charge

The Library Assessment Committee serves as a library-wide coordinating group for assessment activities, in support of the Libraries’ strategic planning. It aims to centralize reporting of assessment activities, evaluate progress in meeting strategic plan goals, and assess the libraries’ value to university population. 

The responsibilities of the workgroup include:

  • Maintain Improve outcomes assessment for Office of Accreditation

  • Track progress of Strategic Directions outcomes assessment and maintain online reports

  • Support a culture of assessment through activities such as the Assessment Minute, training, and the Library Assessment Community on MS Teams

  • Serve as consultants for developing plans for assessing individual projects

  • Promote assessment activities to library employees

  • Stay informed of assessment trends

  • Complete other assessment assignments from Library Administration

2023 Accomplishments

  • Created an Assessment Community in the Libraries' Teams environment
  • Conducted first Taking the Pulse of Assessment survey of library staff
  • Documented procedures for documenting the Libraries’ initiatives for the Institutional Effectiveness (IE)
  • Developed forms and a procedure for consulting with library staff on developing the IE initiatives
  • Posted 8 Assessment Minutes in the Friday Frags (through May, 2023)
