Video Creation

This guide outlines the strategic directions and strategies for creating library instructional videos.

Manage

The management of instructional videos includes collecting data and feedback to refine and improve future video initiatives. During the Manage part of the process, there are two important steps:

Video Creation Process: Manage includes gathering analytics and video maintenance.

Gathering Analytics

Gathering analytics on videos is crucial for various purposes, such as how to better understand and reach your audience and making informed decisions that align with your goals and audience preferences. It also helps to continuously improve the instructional videos so video creators can have content that remains relevant and maintain a strong connection with your viewers over time.

Video analytics are collected through YouTube.

Video Maintenance

Video maintenance uses data and feedback to ensure ongoing improvement to the instructional videos. Once a year, the Video Maintenance Questionnaire is sent to all video creators to review and reflect on their instructional videos. Questions are designed to determine the level of revisions needed for the video (none, minor, remake, or archive). The OLL uses information from the questionnaire to revise the videos, if needed, and ensures video content is relevant and up to date.
