These works are not comic books, but are government publications that are illustrated with cartoons or comic strips. Many of the illustrations are by well-known cartoonists. Sometimes there is a fine line between an illustratred book and what might be considered a full-fledged comic book or graphic novel.
These works are arranged alphabetically by the name of the department or agency.
Intended for industrial workers, these pocket-sized booklets published by the Bureau of Labor Standards are enlivened by cartoon-style illustrations featuring a hapless worker named "Butch." The illustrations were created by Bartholomew Robert Valosio, Supervising Illustrator in the Department of Labor's Office of Information.
These are other bulletins in this same series that feature cartoon illustrations, but do not feature the character of "Butch."
