Research Lifecycle with the UNT Libraries

This guide outlines how the UNT Libraries supports the research lifecycle. It can act as a starting point or quick reference for finding relevant resources.

Discovery and Development: The Planning Phases

The initial phases of the research lifecycle focus on exploration of research (Discovery) and outlining potential research questions and study methods (Development).

Discovery

The Discovery phase of the lifecycle is where researchers explore areas of interest, and the UNT Libraries have many resources to help get started.

Development

Once researchers have established an understanding of their potential topic, the next step is to develop their research topic further. This includes developing a clear hypothesis, starting a literature review, choosing research methods and study design, and finding funding opportunities.
