Leaders Leading Leaders Team Mentoring Pilot FY26
The UNT Libraries Career Development Committee is launching a pilot of Leaders Leading Leaders (LLL), a team-based leadership development mentoring program, running from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026.
What is Leadership Development?
Leadership development helps you grow the skills needed to lead effectively - whether you're aiming for a future leadership role or building confidence in your current one.
The program focuses on practical leadership skills such as:
- Communication and emotional intelligence
- Conflict resolution and collaboration
- Strategic thinking and decision making
Who Can Participate?
ANY full-time library employee (faculty or staff) who wants to develop leadership skills is welcome to join!
Whether you want to become a stronger:
- Project coordinator
- Committee chair
- Supervisor or manager
- Administrator
…the Career Development Committee is here to help you refine those skills.
Participants will be placed in small teams based on their experience levels and leadership goals, ensuring that discussion topics are meaningful and relevant for everyone.
What Does Team Mentoring Look Like?
The LLL pilot uses a small-group mentoring model:
- Up to four mentees are paired with one mentor (mentors may include administrators or other experienced library leaders).
- Meetings are mentee-led, with participants selecting discussion topics that matter most to their group.
- Each group will learn collaboratively through shared experiences, open discussion, and guided reflection.
- The total time commitment is approximately 15 hours over the course of FY26.
Getting Involved
Contact Julie Leuzinger (LLL Coordinator) if you’d like to learn more or express preliminary interest in participating as a mentor or mentee.
