Mapping, GIS, and Remote Sensing

A guide to mapping resources, including GIS (geographic information systems), at the UNT Libraries and on the Internet. The guide also provides links to geospatial and other data that can be downloaded and mapped.

GIS Tools

There are various online tools that help you to prepare data for use in GIS applications. See the tutorials in the right-hand box to get started with these tools.

Batchgeo
Allows users to enter batches of locations, assigns the geographic coordinates to the locations, and maps the results.
Flindlatitudeandlongitude.com
Enter a location in this tool and find out its latitude and longitude coordinates, and do the reverse.
Texas A&M Geocoding Services
A geocoding service that provides a small amount of geocoding processes free of charge (may require payment when used extensively).

Use your smartphone or tablet to collect and update information in the field, whether connected or disconnected.
