Suicide impacts all demographic groups. Although women are three times as likely to attempt suicide, men are more likely to complete suicide.

Most people who attempt or complete suicide are suffering from untreated or undertreated mental health issues. Here is a list of mental health resources at UNT

The Dean of Students and Counseling and Testing Services are committed to preventing suicide. In a life threatening emergency, dial 911.

About National Suicide Prevention Month

National Suicide Prevention Week is the Monday through Sunday surrounding World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s a time to share resources and stories, as well as promote suicide prevention awareness.

World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10. It’s a time to remember those affected by suicide, to raise awareness, and to focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most.
