As a researcher, it is very important to cite resources appropriately according to a manual of style. This is the way that researchers alert readers to how their information was obtained and in a codified way. Musicology typically uses the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) to cite resources. The templates and examples below follow the CMOS guidelines for citing Footnotes. For video game music research, you might find a variety of resources on the web.
