Promoting Video Game Music Collections


A number of people work hard in libraries to find video game music to purchase and prepare it for visitors to check out. It is important to get the word out about this amazing music! Here is a list of activities we have done at the University of North Texas to help promote our video game music collections and the study of ludomusicology.


Social Media

Halo video game music recordingWe enjoy sharing information about our video game music recordings, books, scores, and events on our Facebook and Instagram channels.

We also collaborate with the Media Library to increase awareness of video games and its music available in both collections.

Displays

Video game music CDsWe include video game music selections in displays on a rotating basis, showcasing our video game music resources for visitors to view. We also have a popular record display with several video game music recordings.

 

 

Conferences

Press Start a Video Game Music Conference On March 26, 2022, the UNT Music Library held the inaugural "Press Start": A Video Game Music Symposium conference hosted at the UNT College of Music. The conference recording is available on the UNT Libraries YouTube Channel.

 

 

Play Again"Play Again?": An Online Mini-Symposium is the UNT Music Library's online conference within the "Press Start" series. 

 

 

First Chair Chats Discussion Series

First Chair ChatsPrior to our conference series, UNT Music Libraries' held a two-part discussion on video game music that appeared within our First Chair Chats series in Spring 2020.
