Reference Analytics Guide

Guide to using the UNT Libraries data tracking system

Introduction to Reference Analytics

Reference Analytics is the system UNT Library uses to keep track of interactions with patrons. UNT Libraries uses Reference Analytics to:

  • Improve services and resources by identifying trends and patterns
  • Review past transactions for training opportunities
  • Pull statistics that communicate library value

Everyone within UNT Library that interacts with patrons, from student assistants to librarians, are a Reference Analytics user. In order to have a comprehensive data set every patron transaction (except those recorded elsewhere, like book check-outs) should be recorded in Reference Analytics. Consider that a patron transaction is not complete until it has been documented within this system.

Every library employee that interacts with patrons should have a Reference Analytics account. Account creation can be requested through the TACO account creation form. Need additional assistance? Contact Lib_LibAnswersAdmins@ad.unt.edu
