The Soundbox Vocal Booths


The Soundbox Vocal Booths offer users the opportunity to record their voice in an acoustically isolated environment using professional hardware and software.

Outfitted with a high-quality condenser microphone, a digital audio interface, and a Macintosh computer loaded with DAWs like Logic Pro and Ableton Live, the Soundbox vocal booths are the perfect way to record anything from simple voiceovers to multi-track vocals for music production.

Circulation Policies


The Vocal Booths are available during Soundbox opening hours on a first come, first serve basis.

  • 2-hour Max Checkout Time (per day)
  • No Renewals (2 hour max per day)
  • University ID Required
  • Users must check back in before leaving
  • Fines: Reserve fines - $1/hr

Note: Checkout time is reduced starting two hours before closing time and will be due 15 minutes before The Soundbox closes, no exceptions. 

Rules & Other Policies


When using a Soundbox Vocal Booth, please be aware that your University ID will be held at the Soundbox Service Desk for the duration of your checkout.

This ensures accountability and fair access for all students.

  • Booths are checked out by scanning their unique barcode.
  • Staff will retain your University ID until you have completed your session and the booth has been checked back in.
  • The Soundbox employees will need to inspect the booths before checking in.
  • Failure to return to the desk and properly check in before leaving may result in your usage privileges being temporarily suspended.

Additional Rules

By checking out a booth, you agree to these terms and acknowledge responsibility for the equipment and space during your session.
