Welcome to The Soundbox Music Makerspace! The Soundbox is a space within the UNT Music Library that is designed to provide access to technology and resources to facilitate music and audio production.
The Soundbox promotes creativity and collaboration by making music and audio technologies accessible to the UNT community. As music-making trends and methods shift more towards new technologies, we strive to provide a space in which these technologies may be accessed, studied, and used creatively. In the Soundbox we empower play, curiosity, exploration, and discovery with music and audio equipment that is often out of reach.
The Soundbox is a music makerspace that includes standard music production and sound design resources such as Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), audio interfaces, and MIDI controllers:
Our full-time staff and student workers are highly knowledgeable in various areas of recording, music production, sound design, and composition, and are available for support during Soundbox open hours or consultations by appointment.
We offer workshops within the Soundbox for classes or interested groups. We can also bring the Soundbox out into the world for tabling events!
We accept donations of equipment and technology.
