Finding Articles

To access Academic Search Complete go to the Databases & E-Resources tab (circled in red below) on the library homepage. Start typing Academic into the text box, you will see Academic Search Complete in the list of suggestions (circled in red below), then click on Academic Search Complete when you see it pop up, this will take you directly to the resource. If you do not remember the name of a database you are looking for you can look at the full list to search alphabetically or by subject.

Use the text box shown below to enter your search terms. In the example, gender and race and "sexual orientation" (circled in red below), "sexual orientation" is placed in quotes so the database knows you want to search those two words back-to-back. By adding and between each theme, the database knows you want to search for only articles that have words gender and race and that phrase (sexual orientation). Click the magnifying glass icon to the right of the text box to see your results. You will have the option to limit your search by date, or peer reviewed on the results page.

Nexus Uni (for news articles)

To access Nexis Uni, go to the Libraries home page, and follow the same steps listed above for accessing Academic Search Complete. 

The example shows the search gender and race and "sexual orientation" (circled in red below). Use the drop-down menu to the right to select News (circled in red below), then click the magnifying glass search button to the right of the text box to see the results. You will have the option to limit your search by date.
