This guide documents resources gathered by the now-defunct UNT Women and Gender Network.

Women and Gender Equity Network

The now-defunct UNT Women and Gender Equity Network (WGEN) was formed as a university-based organization that promoted gender equity for all tenure, tenure-track, professional faculty, and faculty librarians to succeed and thrive at the University of North Texas. This guide originally served as a resource for use by all UNT community members, but particularly those who may not be aware of all the services available to meet the needs and challenges of faculty who are marginalized based on their gender identity at the university. 

Under Texas Senate Bill S.B.17, all DEI offices and university-wide initiatives were discontinued as of January 1, 2024 and new compliance procedures were put in place for all future university-sponsored programming and activities. 

This guide now stands as a record of the efforts of the WGEN and the resources that are still available for all members of the community to utilize.

Offers resources for all UNT faculty to help support teaching, scholarship, and service. Includes a mentoring program, newsletter, resource links, and sponsored events.

Oversees UNT compliance with civil rights laws, including Title IX and ADA, as well as employee training on discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and other legal issues.

5. Mediation at UNT

Mediation at UNT is a voluntary process that can help individuals find mutually agreed upon solutions to job-related interpersonal disputes between faculty, administrators, and/or staff. 

6. UNT CARE Team

Assists in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of students and members of the UNT community; and, provides procedures for dealing with disruptive or troubled students.

7. Center for Belonging and Engagement (Student Services)

The Center for Belonging and Engagement is committed to cultivating a campus environment where people of all identities and experiences are appreciated and able to thrive
