Learn how media literacy principles can help you make sense of your digital media environment. This course will introduce you to foundational media literacy principles that will help you make sense of the digital media environment. You’ll learn how:

- to spot misinformation
- to assess credible sources and claims
- to explain how the professional news media operate
- to use media to participate in your community

The course is free and open to everyone — you only need a valid email address to enroll. The course is currently offered in English and Spanish.

The course is broken into three sections, or “modules." Each module includes videos, readings, activities and a community discussion group. The modules are self-paced and are designed to adapt to your individual learning needs. Expect each module to take up to 3 hours to complete.
