Michael Collins Research Collection, 1977-2008

The collection consists of 23 boxes containing papers and materials related to research for Collins’ many publications.

Eugene Conley Recordings, 1951-1978

1951-1978

The collection consists of ten boxes, eight of which contain recordings in various formats and include performances by Conley,  the Metropolitan Opera, and Conley's students and colleagues. Also included are a small collection of sheet music and a folder of photographs.

Willis Conover Collection, 1930-1996

This extensive collection includes documents from Willis Conover's career at the Voice of America, as well as personal papers, non-VOA projects, sound recordings, video recordings, and realia.

The collection consists of about 140 boxes of music manuscripts and stock arrangements for big bands and other ensembles.

Hedley Cooper Collection, 1932

This small collection contains autograph manuscripts of short compositions, as well as photocopies, and clippings from the life and career of Hedley Cooper.

The collection consists of one box of cylinder audio recordings from various manufacturers.

Frank F. Davis Collection, 1900-1930

The collection consists of eight boxes of cylinder audio recordings and two boxes of miniature records.

Art Dedrick Collection, 1939-1977

1939-1977

The collection consists of four boxes of Dedrick's compositions and arrangements over the course of his career. Most are autograph scores in pencil, with a few published materials, and a handful of works by other arrangers.

Jay Dias Collection, 2005-2016

The collection consists of approximately 29 boxes of music manuscripts and printed music selected, compiled, and edited by Jay Dias for the Lyric Stage organization of Irving, TX.

Gerry Dexter Cassette Collection, 1947-1995

1947-1995

The collection consists of one box of cassettes of various live performances by Stan Kenton and his orchestra, along with recordings from a 50th anniversary celebration of Stan Kenton's music held in 1995.

Boyce Ditto Public Library Broadcast Transcription Recordings, 1930-1938

1930-1938

The collection consists of four boxes, which contain a total of fifty-seven 16-inch broadcast transcription discs from the Mineral Wells area. Most of the programs were sponsored by the Crazy Water Company, and there are multiple copies of most programs in the collection.

Richard Dufallo Collection, 1919-2000

The collection consists of 21 boxes of scores, correspondence, audio and video recordings, photographs, and materials for his book, Trackings.

Osborn Duke Collection, 1934-1983

1934-1983

The collection consists of eight boxes, containing materials from Duke's years at North Texas State Teacher's College, numerous photos from his overseas deployment in the Second World War and from his time as a working musician in the post-war years, and materials related to his career as a writer (including the novel Sideman), and his work with the General Dynamics Corporation, and the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Highlights of the collection include the photo albums, and a film reel of the General Dynamics promotional film, Champion of Champions, which starred Jimmy Stewart. The collection also contains a copy of the script annotated and autographed by Stewart.

Stephen Dunning Musical Coin Collection, 261 B.C.E. - 2019 C.E.

261 B.C.E. - 2019 C.E.

The collection consists of 106 coins depicting or referring to musical culture, dating from circa 261 B.C.E. through 2019, and originating from locations including ancient Greece, former Soviet republics, African countries, Niue Island, the European Union, and the United States. Many coins feature instruments, musical works, composers, or musicians of national importance. The collection provides a multifaceted view of music and culture expressed in national coinage, along with some souvenir coins and tokens.

Duke Ellington Collection, 1944-1973

1944-1973

The collection consists of one box of music manuscripts and dye-line copies of music by Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Cat Anderson, Lou Carter, and Paul Gonsalves, including a 1-page autograph music manuscript in Ellington's hand of "Get It Over."

Merrill Ellis Music Collection, 1960-1981

1960-1981

The collection consists of 53 boxes of performance materials for all of Ellis' works: tapes, cassettes, slides, films, instructions, masters, etc. Also included are tapes of historical importance such as the John Cage Lecture, the Roy Harris Informal Evening, and a tape of Ellis discussing plans for the construction of the current Music Building.
