UNT Libraries Welcomes Student Parents!

Balancing classes and parenthood is challenging enough, finding research assistance or somewhere to study shouldn't have to be!

The term student-parents refers to students who are pursuing their degrees while also parenting school-aged children. If this sounds like you, you're in the right place! Please browse this guide to see the services we offer just for you. 

  • Family-Friendly Spaces - Willis offers social and collaborative floors, a lactation room with a changing table (Room 152), a family restroom with a changing table (435), and soundproof study pods.
  • Family Study Hours - Willis offers designated study hours for parents that includes crafts, activities, story times, snacks, and child-friendly furniture. Check to see when our next event is! 
  • Kids Activity Kits - Student parents can checkout activity kits for their kids. Kits include books, games, and activities for ages 1-9.
  • Resources for Student Parents - Library, campus, and local resources are available for parenting and pregnant students.

Library Noise Level Overview

Worried about bringing a lively child to the library? Don't be! While libraries are stereotyped as quiet spaces, Willis has plenty of spaces designated for activity. Click here to see a breakdown of our spaces and their noise levels.

Library Lactation Room

Nursing mothers can find the lactation room on the first floor of Willis in Room 152, facing The Spark. The lactation room is open 24/7 on a walk-in basis. The lactation room includes a changing table, a comfortable chair, a table, and a waste bin. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Family Restrooms

Student parents can find a gender-neutral, family restroom on the fourth floor of Willis in 435. The family restroom also includes a changing table. 

Study Spaces

Need a contained area to study with a little one? Students can reserve soundproof study pods. Click here for details on how to reserve a study pod.
