Many organizations advocate, or offer public support, for a cause or policy issues. The groups may include non-governmental organizations (NGOs), trade or industry organizations, or government sponsored groups. Many provide helpful information for understanding a policy issue, especially related to their organization's mission. These groups often lobby government on behalf of their issue and support citizens in contacting their legislators to add support to an issue. Some may offer funding or connect stakeholders to funding opportunities.
