The UNT Libraries have so many services for you that they can't all be listed here. Some of the most commonly requested services are described on this page. Please visit the Services webpage to see our full menu of services.
Librarians assigned to a particular class or department are called subject librarians. Look at this subject librarian list and find the one assigned to the dept offering your course (ENGL = English, BIOL = Biology) or to your major. You can contact the subject librarian by phone or email and make an appointment for individual assistance. Don't be shy - librarians love to meet with students, faculty and staff and help them with their research and library questions.
Interlibrary Loan Borrowing and Document Delivery Services provide free delivery of books, articles, dissertation/theses which the UNT Libraries don't have. You must establish an ILLiad account before making your first ILL request. It takes 5 minutes or less to complete the ILLiad registration and enter your request. You can contact Access Services if you have questions.
Delivery of books generally takes 1 to 2 weeks; dissertations/theses can take up to 6 weeks. Articles are usually sent in electronic form to your ILLiad account and arrive in approximately 7 days.
You can renew a book at one of the Libraries' service desks with your current ID card. See the Hours webpage for the service desk contacts and their hours. Or you can renew online by logging into your library catalog account at the Accounts Login page. Please note that music and media items must be renewed in-person at the Music Library and Media Library respectively.
For detailed information about this service, please visit Renew Your Materials.
Laptops are available for checkout at the Willis, Eagle Commons and Discovery Park Libraries. The laptops check out for 4 hours and can be taken outside the Libraries. Please see the laptop checkout details before using this service.
The Willis Library houses the 24 Center Computers, from which students can print based on the technology fee they paid with their tuition. Public Use Printing is available for UNT staff and faculty, and community members, through Public Use Computers in the Willis and Eagle Commons Libraries at 10 cents per page.
