Locating Books in the UNT Library Catalog

To locate books in the UNT Library Catalog, use either a subject or keyword search.

How to Conduct a Subject search in the UNT Library Catalog

1. On the libraries' homepage, click the "books and more" tab in the central blue box.
2. Do a keyword search and look at the subject headings of a relevant title (if you know your subject term, use Subject search)
3. Now you will see a list of Subject Headings. Click on the subject heading most appropriate to your search.
4. Displayed will be a list of books and other holdings (films, microfilm, etc.) in the UNT Library Catalog. Here you can see the location of the item, its' call number and its' availability status.

Subject Heading search term examples:

• Subject Heading: Social Service -- 32 Related Subjects 
• See also Subject Heading: Social Work Administration or  Social Work Administration Handbooks Manuals Etc
