Spark Summer Learning

Summer Learning with The Spark Makerspace

This summer The Spark Makerspace at The University of North Texas Libraries is offering online Learning sessions that are 10 hours a week, 2 hours a day. The classes are designed to improve digital fluency for students through interactive, instructor lead series to learn on a variety of steam related topics from programming to design.

Each Learning Session runs Monday-Friday and is $25 per seat.

Sessions begin June 14, 2021. Please see the planned classes below. You will register for each topic and be invoiced to make your payment.

Participants must have completed 4th through 11th grade in the 2020-2021 school year

These sessions are taught online through a live Zoom meeting. The individual teaching the class is an employee from The Spark makerspace. Registered students will need to be able to run Zoom and a web browser as well as have a microphone and speakers to fully participate in the classes.  * Some sessions do require installing a free application such as Audacity. Also, there is a maximum number of students per session to ensure the instructor can address the questions and needs of participants in a timely and friendly manner.

To be able to take part in the sessions, the student must have access to the internet and a workstation. Unfortunately, most of the applications are  not designed to work on phones but can work on tablets, laptops, and desktops. The workstation will need to have a microphone and speakers to interact with the class.

Cost: Each class costs $25 per student.
