American Copy Editors Society (ACES)

Center for Communication

An independent media forum that offers students and others the opportunity to see the inner workings of the media industries.  The Center presents over 55 seminars each year on television, news, advertising, public relations, and radio.  Audio transcripts for each seminar are available free online.


National Press Club

NPC club members, calendar, awards and scholarships, and directory of news sources.


National Writers Union

Labor union that represents freelance writers in all genres.  Offers members grievance assistance, contract advice, a job hotline, health and professional liability insurance, professional development, and more.


Pulitzer Prize Board

The Pulitzer Prize Board honors achievements in American journalism, letters, drama, and music. A list of winners, finalists, and the Prize Board and Juries is available.


Student Press Law Center

"The SPLC is an advocate for student free-press rights and provides information, advice, and legal assistance at no charge to students and the educators who work with them."
