This is the guide for legacy RefWorks, version 2. Legacy RefWorks will be retired after December 2017. If you are using RefWorks for the first time, please go to the guide for the new RefWorks, version 3, released in June 2016. The new version offers many more features for organizing your research.

Write-N-Cite is a software you can install on your computer that works in combination with Microsoft Word and your RefWorks account. It allows you to insert in-text citations in a Word document as you write it, and creates a bibliography based on the citations in the style of your choice when you're done. These videos from ProQuest show you how to download, install and use Write-N-Cite.
The most current version is Write-N-Cite 4, but if it won't work for you, try installing and using Write-N-Cite III. Both versions are available for PCs and Macs.
