Research Guide for WGST 4260.002 An Introduction to LGBTQ Studies

Welcome to the Class Page for WGST 4260.002

This class page is for the Activist/Organizational Profile Research Project in the WGST 4260 course (Introduction to LGBTQ Studies); however, it has basic research steps and tools that are useful for any research you do. If you find you need more help, use the Ask Us services. Library reference staff members can be reached in person and through phone and email. You may also contact the Subject Librarian for the Women's and Gender Studies Program, Julie Leuzinger (Pronouns: she/her/hers). Note: While I have tried to use inclusive language, if you notice anything that could be improved, please don't hesitate to contact me with suggestions.

  • Option 1: Search WGST in the SEARCH BY COURSE CODE search box.
  • Option 2: Search your professor's name by using the SEARCH BY INSTRUCTOR NAME (LAST, FIRST) search box.
  • Take the call number and your UNT ID card to the Library Services Desk to request the book.

Finding Books

Browsing the Catalog: You can perform a subject search in the UNT Library Catalog, A Subject search is often a good starting point. Your results will display the number of titles we have under that general heading, and then under a series of sub-headings, which often focus on specific regions or related items. You can also perform keyword searches. The catalog will look for your search terms anywhere in the library item record (i.e. title, author, subject, notes), allowing you to perform a more targeted search.
